Sweetly Inspired Fine Art Giveaway

17 Aug, 2011 by in etsy, sweetly 13 comments

Our Etsy giveaway this week is inspired by Jackson Pearce’s book Sweetly and is brought to you by the amazingly talented Jaz.

“I’m a full time artist based in Brisbane, Australia… I specialize mainly in pop surreal, big eyed, lowbrow, whimsical, fantasy, fairytale styles of art. Is that specialized? šŸ˜‰

My inspiration comes from vintage storybooks, dreams, movies, nursery rhymes, Alice in Wonderland, steampunk, sea creatures, mermaids, museums, art…the list goes on and on.

I live with my gorgeous fiance, our beautiful daughter, and our little black & white cat – Oreo! ”

She has donated the lovely “Hansel and Gretel” Art Print

Size: 12″ x 16″ (30.5cm x 40.6cm) – with a white border for ease of framing (A3 size in total).

These prints are beautiful on their own or in a frame!

This one is based off the original Brothers Grimm fairytale of “Hansel and Gretel”. After they’ve been left stranded in the forest, Hansel and his sister Gretel stumble upon a house made completely out of candy! It’s extremely tempting, but they’re both a little weary about going in…

There’s lots of little details painted into this one! Lots of different sweets on the house, along with melting ice-cream cone turrets, and a roof made of candy hearts. I’ve purposefully made the house nice and bright, so that it contrasts with Hansel and Gretel in their bland and worn shades of brown and cream.

It’s a professional 12″ x 16″ art print on Glossy Photo Paper, printed with archival ink, so your art print should stay nice and bright for many years to come!

To enter to win 12×16 fine art print simply leave a comment below.

Teaser Tuesday Supernaturally Inspired Jewelry Giveaway

12 Jul, 2011 by in etsy, supernatrually 42 comments

It’s been a while since we’ve done an Etsy shop giveaway here at Fire and Ice so I thought it would be fun to combine our Teaser Tuesday with some Evie inspired bling! Our teaser comes from

Supernaturally

by Kiersten White

Hardcover, 352 pages

Expected publication: July 26th 2011

by HarperTeen

ISBN0061985864

series Paranormalcy #2

Evie finally has the normal life sheā€™s always longed for. But sheā€™s shocked to discover that being ordinary can be . . . kind of boring. Just when Evie starts to long for her days at the International Paranormal Containment Agency, sheā€™s given a chance to work for them again. Desperate for a break from all the normalcy, she agrees.

But as one disastrous mission leads to another, Evie starts to wonder if she made the right choice. And when Evieā€™s faerie ex-boyfriend Reth appears with devastating revelations about her past, she discovers that thereā€™s a battle brewing between the faerie courts that could throw the whole supernatural world into chaos. The prize in question? Evie herself.

So much for normal.

“..the box Lend took out of his pocket defitnitely didn’t have socks in it. “Is is Sparkly?” I bounced impatiently on my heels as he opened it.” He laughed and pulled out a delicate silver chain, threaded through an open heart-shaped pendant. -p 44 Supernaturally

EvelynMaeCreations has generously donated one of her handmade necklaces similar to what I envision Lend giving Evie in Supernaturally.

She says…”Jewelry to me is about the experience you have or can have because of how you feel when you wear a favorite piece. I want the wearer of my creations to be transformed by the pieces they choose to wear on a daily basis or even for that special occasion. When you add a little sparkle to an outfit, it says more about the person and who they are and want to be than just that they’re wearing jewelry. Every single piece is meant to be special and beloved by the future owner. That is what Evelyn Mae Creations is about.”

Our third and final Hourglass inspired giveaway until the book release day in May is a light bulb necklace…

Kaleb’s Hope Coin Necklace Giveaway

18 Mar, 2011 by in etsy, myra mcentire 81 comments

Our second Hourglass inspired giveaway is a necklace made of Kaleb’s hope coin…”He reached into his pocket before placing something in my hand and carefully curling my fingers around it. When he left, I opened my palm. It was a silver circle engraved with the word hope.” -p.333, Hourglass by Myra McEntire

This handmade piece was donated to Fire and Ice by Lisa Michele Products who “offers handmade silver jewelry and personalized gift ideas meant to inspire joy through conscious and intentional living. My intent is to create personalized silver jewelry and other products that speak to oneā€™s soul, which help nurture and remind people of what matters in life by identifying and living by their values.

Whether itā€™s a hand stamped piece of jewelry with an inspirational word or quote, a Harmony Bowl or other creations, my products are meant to evoke joy and harmony in oneā€™s life.

I individually design each piece of jewelry. I have been designing and selling jewelry locally for five years. I have sold my work to local retail stores, a gallery and at community events. I continually work on developing my skills by attending classes at bead shops and an area metal design studio. Insisting on attention to detail and craftsmanship, customers can feel confident knowing they are purchasing a quality product that will last for years to come.

The Harmony Bowl is my newest concept and product design. The bowls are a product of Nambe, a company based in New Mexico. There are three styles to select from; crystal, copper, and a polished alloy. The pewter stones are designed from three river rocks I found. The stones are hand stamped with meaningful words and manufactured here in Washington. I will also hand stamp your customized stones. I believe in providing gifts with personal and inspiring meaning, quality products and exceptional customer service! Customize a piece of jewelry or personalize a Harmony Bowl for yourself or someone special. “

Description: Hope is hand-stamped onto my custom designed sterling silver pendant. This is an inspirational piece intended to comfort and remind the person wearing it that with hope in your heart, anything is possible. This is the perfect gift for someone who needs a little lift or as a inspirational reminder of tomorrows possibilities. Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. – Albert Einstein

Author Spotlight- Marie Letourneau

04 Mar, 2011 by in etsy, postcard giveaway 23 comments

With the release of the book Red Riding Hood by Sarah Blakley-Cartwright, Catherine Hardwick and the movie debut just a week away I started searching the ETSY world for some great Red Riding Hood giveaways. I ran into author and illustrator Marie Letourneau who’s artwork is absolutely dreamy!

Fans of Little Red, like us, will adore her etsy shop Le French Circus “Bonjour Mon Ami! My name is Marie Letourneau, I live in New York and I am a children’s book author and illustrator. My book, “The Mice of Bistrot des Sept Freres” won Foreword Magazine’s Book of The Year Award in 2006 and was featured on an episode of ACE OF CAKES on Food Network. (Yes, Duff and the gang from Charm City Cakes made me a cake based on my book! Tre fun and delicious!) It’s for sale here in my shop (the book – not the cake. We already ate that)
ALSO FROM MY STUDIO:
I would like to introduce my two children, Hannah and Alexander. Both artists and musicians. From time to time they create pieces they would like to sell (I indicate this in the listing) Right now Hannah has listed the Paris Note Cards and Mannequin Print. Overall, I hope you find something exciting that suits your tastes! Enjoy and adieu! “

Marie has donated a pack of her postcards for our readers!

Description: From an original painting by me (Marie) postcards of lovely Miss Riding Hood! Our dear Red makes her way (a little apprehensively) through the forest and over to grandmothers house. 8 glossy, professionally printed post cards with rounded corners. Back of post card has an aged-antique design by me too. Size: Standard 4.5 x 5.5 inches with envelopes
