UntitledWith summer coming, I want to leave my students with a list of good clean teen reads. These are free of sex, graphic violence and swearing. All listed are among my very favorites that I’ve personally read and reviewed over the years at Fire and Ice.

Hadley-Hadley Benson

Focused: Keeping Your Life on Track, One Choice at a Time

Daughter of Helaman (Stripling Warrior Book 1)

Fight For You (Stripling Warrior Book 2)

Waterfall: A Novel (River of Time Series)

Pride and Popularity (The Jane Austen Diaries Book 1)

Heist Society (A Heist Society Novel)

Matched

The Faerie Ring

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight

one scene with drinking

Finding June (The June Series Book 1)

I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You (Gallagher Girls)

The Goose Girl (Books of Bayern)

Invaluable

What other books should I add to my clean teen reads list?

I would recommend Karyn Folan’s Doomsday Kids series. They are apocalyptic adventure that certainly have their fair share of traumatic moments but not filled with unnecessary violence and I don’t think they ever cross any inappropriate boundries. They are far more emotionally driven with a refreshingly diverse range of characters from all backgrounds that I think is really great for kids to read. Well worth checking out.
