Photography Friday- Mono Andes

19 Mar, 2010 by in Uncategorized 4 comments

Today’s Photography Friday is from Mono Andes. He is a photographer in Chile who has been capturing images form the earthquake and asking for aid for the people he meets. He also has an amazing photostream of South America and the Andes. Mono’s black and white photos remind me a lot of Ansel Adams.
He has offered to giveaway a photo of choice to one of our blog readers in return for donations to Chile earthquake relief. Here is his profile…

No te resignes. Huye.

(Walt Whitman, No te detengas)

(+3) Mono Andes: great photos, a country where the stones form the contours, lines, areas and surface; where the peaks touch the sky as well as the crowns of the highest trees touch the clouds; where you can gradually move from cold icy snowy country to the relaxing world of green pastures. beautiful pictures that impressed me (I am a geographer).

(+3) Concerning the earthquake it is so hard to say anything. I am not able to donate just now and I know that support was important part of this giveaway. I can only say that all latest natural disasters touched me deeply (Haiti, Chile, China) as well as crash and tragedy of Polish presidential aircraft. I felt and I still feel sorrow for so many victims and I pray for those who survived to stay strong.
