03 Jan, 2014 by in bea, fire and ice, Heather Gardner Photography, kami garcia, mundie moms, photography 4 comments

I’m bringing back my Photography Friday meme in 2014. Most of you probably know that I’m also a freelance photographer at Heather Gardner Photography. Last year two of my author photos were published in YA books *squee* with more to come in 2014.

I shoot mostly weddings, families and author photos with a Nikon D40 and D5200 and have my i phone handy at all time for instagram fun.  I also sell artsy print in two shops on etsy. Since I’m totally a visual person  and want a way to share photos with you readers every once in a while!

After being pulled 400 years into the future, twins Taylor and Sheridan have found some refuge from the government of Traventon, which used the dangerous Time Strainer to yank the girls from the past. Yet the threat of the dangerous technology still looms. Taylor and an ally, Joseph, are selected to go on a mission to destroy the time machine and weapon. But their actions before they do may have major consequences for the future and the past.

Action-packed and romantic, this futuristic sequel to Erasing Time is perfect for fans of dystopian and sci-fi novels such as The Maze Runner by James Dashner, Across the Universe by Beth Revis, and Matched by Ally Condie.

Cj-hillAbout the Author

CJ Hill is a pen name for a YA author who is best known for writing romantic comedies. (Slayers will be her 18th published book.) Her writing has shifted
away from the romantic comedy genre, so her editor thought a pen name would be a good idea. (New books will include: dangerous dragons, time travel to dystopian worlds, and flesh-eating beetles.) Since the publisher refused to let her have the pseudonym : The Artist Formerly Referred to as Princess, she chose a name to honor her mother. CJ Hill was her mother’s pen name, or at least it would have been if her mother had published. Her mother wrote a few children’s books and a middle grade novel but was taken by cancer before she had fully learned the craft.

Most writers’ first novels aren’t publishable. CJ Junior’s first novel wasn’t, but somehow was published anyway. Now, even though it is out of print, it remains forever available on Amazon, where it taunts her with its badness. This was another good reason to use a pen name.

CJ Hill has five children, three of whom like her on any given day depending on who is in trouble. She has lived in Arizona for the last half of her life, but is still in desert denial and hopes that one day her garden will grow silver bells and cockle shells or maybe just tomatoes.

Book Summary From Harper Collins: When twins Sheridan and Taylor wake up 400 years in the future, they find a changed world: domed cities, no animals, and a language that’s so different, it barely sounds like English. And the worst news: They can’t go back home.

The twenty-fifth-century government transported the girls to their city hoping to find a famous scientist to help perfect a devastating new weapon. The same government has implanted tracking devices in the citizens, limiting and examining everything they do. Taylor and Sheridan have to find a way out of the city before the government discovers their secrets. To complicate matters, the moblike Dakine has interest in getting hold of them too. The only way for the girls to elude their pursuers is to put their trust in Echo, a guy with secrets of his own. The trio must put their faith in the unknown to make a harrowing escape into the wilds beyond the city.

Full of adrenaline-injected chases and heartbreaking confessions, Erasing Time explores the strength of the bonds between twins, the risks and rewards of trust, and the hard road to finding the courage to fight for what you believe in.
About the Author:  C. J. Hill is the mother of twins. They aren’t identical, but this doesn’t mean she always calls them by the right name. In fact, she occasionally calls all her children by the wrong names (she has five) and has even been known to throw the dog’s name into the mix. Laugh now, but you’ll do the same thing when you have kids.
If C. J. had a time machine and could visit another century, she would probably go to the Regency era instead of the future. According to all the novels she’s read, the past was filled with a multitude of dashing lords and viscounts who were always on the lookout for damsels in distress, whereas the future is populated by scary dystopian societies.

Chapter 25.5 Misunderstandings
efireandicec

April 27th, 15:50
Bella stared at him in horror. “What do you mean Seth’s gone?!”

“Bella, stay here with Jake. Don’t move him. We need Carlisle,” Edward replied. His voice shook as he spoke, and Bella watched as he solemnly stood up, his gaze still downward at Seth’s still body, his right hand still grasping at his left where Jacob’s bite sunk in.

“Edward! Seth’s not gone! Wolves can’t…” Bella pleaded with Edward, wishing desperately that he’d look at her with his amber-colored eyes to show her some uncertainty, but he did not.

“Stay with Jacob. I’ll be back soon with Carlisle; we don’t have much time,” Edward spoke in a consistent monotone. Before Bella could question him, he was gone, racing with his vampire speed into the trees…

Fire and Ice Fan Fic!

Just when we think he has retired…NOT SO!
Our very own Daniel Jackson (Edward) of the original Fire and Ice group busts out with a LiveJournal page and his first FanFic! Oh yes ladies, he is back! Not only is he a talented musician, composer and producer…he is single and he writes.
Check it out and leave us your opinions…http://efireandicec.livejournal.com/

Daniel writes…”I got the idea while reading Eclipse for the second time
when Seth and Riley are fighting wouldn’t the wolfpack’s sixth sense notify Jacob of what was going on? No way he’d leave Bella alone if he knew she was being attacked. “
