Review
The Golden Matchmakers Club #1 gets off to a fun start with two best friends vying for a home. In on a renovation project, Reid and Heidi find out that there is much more to their childhood relationship than there once was. They can not figure out why they are both feeling a connection deeper than just friends. When Heidi becomes bound and determined to help maker her dream cottage come true, Reid has his reservations. She’s an accountant by trade, and has never lifted tools for construction, but he will not win this bid. Such a fun dynamic between the two of them, while their families scheme behind the scenes to get them together. Golden socialites meet to scheme and plan “chance” meetings outside of their joint project, and soon there’s trouble. I enjoyed Reid’s realizations of life priorities and Heidi’s overcoming childhood neglect to carve her own path. It’s nice to see into both main character’s thoughts as they navigate following their feelings. Highly recommend this series and can’t wait to see what the men and women on the Matchmaker’s Club plot next, though I think Reid and Heidi may have just pulled this one off on their own! Contemporary romance set in a small town.
Content and trigger warning: clean, parental abandonment.
